The Ho Must Go On!

came out of the surprising but inevitable coalessence of two long term projects… a cabaret evening in 2009 in San Francisco as part of a performance class with the master teacher Shari Carlson,  In which I interpreted songs from Broadway musicals sung by characters who were sex workers…and the stories of my life that I was increasingly telling and refining to the delight of my friends and aquaintences. When I was exploring how to compile and “use” the tales, (memoir? Short stories? Tv show?) a couple of friends looked at me like I was crazy, and told me it was ridiculous for me to do anything other than be on stage myself, singing and dancing and doing my shtick. So a year later, after working weekly with my brilliant cohort, Lisa Smarrt, my biographical burlesque was born…

My goal is to tour the world with this bringing whatever particular magic I have to share, to the audiences who need to hear it.
